If you suffer from ME/CFS, you might have already heard about The Perrin Technique in London. You might have not heard about it all, or you’re simply looking for more information, which we’re more than happy to give you. This technique is an osteopathic approach to pain relief and management that is growing in popularity and may be exactly what you need to help with the problems you’re dealing with.
Here at Rakhee Osteopathy, we like to look at the whole body as opposed to dealing with symptoms individually. We believe wholeheartedly that there are many benefits to this approach, including finding a source that might not have been looked at if only focusing on fixing the symptom, rather than the body as a whole.
In this short post, we’ll introduce you to The Perrin Technique and discuss what it is, how it works and what the benefits include.
The basics
The Perrin Technique in London works on a basis that a varying amount of factors, including both physical, emotional, allergies and infections, all lead to overwhelming the sympathetic nervous system. Due to this overload, a build up of toxins around the brain and within spinal fluid can start to form, having detrimental effects in a person. The poisons within the toxins are often caused by infection and inflammation and will flow from the brain to other varying channels, including the lymph ducts of the head and neck. In a healthy person, the toxins would drain out into the spine, but in those with CFS/ME there is a back flow of the drainage points which can instead cause more inflammation and infection. The symptoms caused by this are the same as those seen in patients with CFS/ME.
Treating CFS/ME
Using varying osteopathic techniques, we are able to manually stimulate the fluid motion around the brain and spinal cord. We are also able to stimulate manual lymphatic drainage, which can help to drain out the toxins that are otherwise stuck in the back-flow that will only cause more inflammation, infection and pain. Using craniosacral therapy on the head and massage techniques on the neck, back and chest allows us to the move the toxins towards the liver to be detoxified. When the toxins are filtered out of the body through regular treatments, the nervous system is able to gradually restore correct functioning.
Treating Fibromyalgia
We can also use the Perrin Technique to help patients who suffer from fibromyalgia. There is a lot of information to suggest that fibromyalgia is caused by the biomechanical problems that also cause CFS/ME. By working on different areas in the body with the Perrin Technique removing toxins we can also help to relieve pain.
Long-covid
Using cranial and spinal techniques alongside the massage of soft tissues in the head, neck, back and chest will help to remove the toxins from infections such as Long-covid and potentially offer relief from symptoms such as fatigue, dizziness, joint pain and malaise. The symptoms of Long-covid can last for long periods of time and be extremely uncomfortable for the patient, so why not get in touch to for more information on how we can help.
