The effects of the Perrin technique on Long COVID and CFS/ME

Long COVID and CFS/ME

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome which is also known as CFS/ME is a debilitating multi system disorder which can target people at any age and from all walks of life. It affects children as young as 5 years old and can also affect people much later in life. It can begin with feelings of tiredness and lethargy and progress to severe fatigue which does not alleviate after rest. It can be a devastating disease and over time can result in loss of mobility and an inability to carry out daily activities or even self care without the help of others. Some patients end up wheelchair bound or bed bound and it affects people with varying degrees of severity, lasting from several months to many years - completely taking over your life. CFS/ME can affect relationships with friends and family, create financial issues, result in loss of your job or career and also impose health complications for the future. If you feel that you are suffering from any of these symptoms or you have been diagnosed with CFS/ME then we encourage you to speak to us here at Rakhee Osteopathy to find out about the Perrin technique in London and how it may help reduce your symptoms and improve the quality of your life.

How does the Perrin technique work?

The Perrin technique was developed by Dr Raymond Perrin and consists of specialised osteopathic techniques which include soft tissue massage, spinal and cranial osteopathy to help stimulate the lymphatic drainage system to promote the removal of toxins and other harmful waste products from the body. The symptoms of CFS/ME are thought to occur as a result of build up of waste products including bacteria or viruses in the cerebral spinal fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord. Therefore the application of specific osteopathic techniques are carried out to encourage better flow in the lymphatic system which removes harmful substances from the body's tissues and organs and recirculates them to be excreted from the body. Here at Rakhee Osteopathy our patients have found that the Perrin technique in London has been successful in reducing the symptoms of CFS/ME. The Perrin technique does not produce instantaneous results, however with an individually tailored treatment plan, over time your symptoms will begin to ease and by continuing with the programme we will help you gradually get back on your feet.

The Perrin technique for Long COVID

In the last year we have had a significant number of patients who have presented with Long COVID symptoms. These patients experience very similar symptoms of CFS/ME, including tiredness, lethargy and fatigue. Dr Raymond Perrin has also carried out research using the Perrin technique in London for the treatment of the symptoms of Long COVID and our patients are happy to report that they have found the technique successful in reducing their symptoms, and some patients have reported a complete recovery.

The Perrin technique in London requires 100% commitment and you will usually begin with weekly sessions, which can then be reduced according to your personal requirements and success of your recovery.
