Here at Rakhee Osteopathy, our osteopath in Chalfont is committed to providing patients with the highest possible standard of osteopathic care possible. For those who are unaware of what an osteopath does, we specialise in improving an individual’s overall wellbeing by focusing on massaging, stretching and aligning their joints.
As the human body is a complex system of interdependent parts which combine to make a whole, we believe that by using massage techniques, tension, and physical manipulation we can help your ligaments, joints, muscles and bones function to their best possible ability.
By seeking out the aid of our expertly trained osteopath in Chalfont we can help - in a drug-free and non-surgical way - to promote healthy blood flow, relieve tension, increase joint mobility and promote healing.
Where does osteopathy come from?
The study of osteopathy has been around since the 1800s. Its founder, Andrew Taylor Still was a surgeon and physician in Kirksville, Missouri. It was Still’s belief that in order for the human body to function at maximum efficiency, all the individual parts must work harmoniously.
Still achieved this harmony through targeted tension treatments on certain bones and body parts by straightening and stretching them. Over time Still’s treatments developed a reputation thanks to their success, and thus osteopathy was born.
Since then the field of osteopathy has developed extraordinarily as new and emerging techniques and principles have been advanced.
Today an osteopath in Chalfont, such as ours here at Rakhee Osteopathy, employs a broad range of osteopathic treatments that can help patients who are experiencing a variety of problems and pains - from fibromyalgia and Lyme disease to CFS/ME and neurological disorders.
