For some, a diagnosis for fibromyalgia may seem like a life sentence, while for others it comes as a relief knowing that what they are going through is a real thing and they are not actually crazy, but what happens after you’ve been diagnosed with this complex disorder? Are you to live your life on debilitating medication that keeps you in a stupor to numb the pain or is there a better, more holistic approach to healing, that not only helps you move the pain out of your body, but helps you live a more active and manageable life? At Rakhee Osteopathy we believe that working with your body’s own ability to move and heal can be part of a multidisciplinary approach to finding a point where you can manage your pain.
What is fibromyalgia?
As previously mentioned this is a complex disorder, but the central symptom is chronic pain, pain everywhere, in the muscles, joints, skin, and tissue that may increase and decrease in waves over time, but it never seems to really go away which is why you seem to have good days and bad days. But it is definitely real and not all in your head. Other than pain, you may experience chronic fatigue, extreme sensitivity to sounds, and possibly even light and sometimes disturbances in your cognitive abilities which may seem to worsen when you are placed under stress.
This is a most common chronic pain condition and is estimated to be experienced by 3-6% of the world’s population and, unfortunately, there is currently no cure for it which is why learning to manage your life and what tasks you can or can’t handle will become a very important part of your pain management. The Perrin Technique in London is something that may help relieve your symptoms while you learn to manage your life anew.
At our Fibromyalgia Clinic in London we can help you!
Rakhee Mediratta has been a practicing osteopath for 13 years and has studied the Perrin Technique in London to help patients with chronic pain and fatigue with great success, giving them much needed relief from taxing symptoms that have overrun their lives. By unblocking certain areas and pathways in the body through movement and manipulation of the limbs and muscles, she is able to help the body shift the pain through its natural channels. She is able to diagnose the stressors in the body, so that the negative effects may exit the body through manual manipulation, this is a science that has been studied for over 30 years and it has been found that our bodies are much cleverer than we have been giving them credit for, they just need a little nudge in the right direction.
If you or a loved one are struggling with chronic pain and are tired of the treatment approach that has you doped-up, unable to function, and puts your liver into distress, then perhaps it’s time to seek a different form of treatment that can, after all, not hurt you more than you already are.
